Denpasar, Bali (Tim Redaksi) – Pertamina Patra Niaga deployed four tanker trucks from Banyuwangi to Bali to speed up fuel distribution at gas stations, as long queues persisted on the island on Thursday.

“Each has a capacity of 16 kiloliters,” said Ahad Rahedi, Pertamina Patra Niaga’s area manager for communications, relations and CSR for East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara, in Denpasar.

Fuel in Bali is supplied from the Manggis terminal in Karangasem and the Sanggaran terminal in Denpasar.

Data from Pertamina’s Bali marketing region showed the Sanggaran terminal in Denpasar is supported by 25-30 fuel tanker trucks.

The Manggis terminal in Karangasem has 72 tanker trucks, which have been rushing deliveries to gas stations so far.

The company also prepared standby tanker drivers and extra gas station operators to prevent staff fatigue, and is coordinating with the IX/Udayana Military Command to support operations.

As an alternative, it is using motorbike fuel couriers to deliver gasoline to two-wheeler users in line with operating rules.

Pertamina is shipping more fuel through the Manggis terminal in Karangasem and the dock at the Sanggaran terminal in Denpasar.

The supply totals 44.9 million liters of Pertalite and 13 million liters of Pertamax, to be delivered in stages from October 14 to 17, Rahedi said.

Long queues remained at several Bali gas stations at 10 a.m. local time on Thursday, including at Ngurah Rai airport in Badung and in Denpasar, Gianyar and Karangasem.

Bali’s provincial government ordered government offices, schools, and state and regional-government-owned firms to work from home from Thursday through Saturday, according to a governor’s circular issued on Wednesday.

The work-from-home policy aims to curb mobility and support efforts to supply and distribute fuel.

Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy Transition Bahlil Lahadalia said on Wednesday in Jakarta that the long queues were caused by distribution problems.
